Social Worker - Full Time Position
Family Based Services is accepting applications for a full-time Social Worker to provide services to foster children and their families. The Social Worker's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, family assessments, planning and implementing recommended services, testifying in Juvenile Court proceedings, preparing written reports, and supervising visits with children in placment with their natural families.
-Masters Degree in Social Work or a related field.
-Previous experience in a child welfare agency is preferred.
-Must have a valid IL Drivers License to do home visits in various communities.

Education Coordinator - Full Time Position
Family Based Services is accepting applications for a full-time Education Coordinator to provide services to our school age foster children, including children in need of Early Education services. The intervention of the Education Coordinator would begin at the intake/placement process and focus on education planning. This position would assist in creating a stable, positive, successful school experience for our foster children, providing support in their academic setting as well strengthening their placement stability.
The Education Coordinator would offer advocacy, support, crisis intervention and education for foster parents and educators. The Education Coordinator would also coordinate and/or facilitate groups to enhance the academic and social support needed for our foster children to be successful in a school setting. This position would network with local community providers to ensure that foster children are provided with academic enrichment activities in their community. This position would also create pathways for academic transitions, particularly for our older adolescents entering post-secondary education as well as preparation for employment.
The Education Coordinator would be available to provide crisis intervention in the school setting in order to reduce the incidences of school suspensions. The Education Coordinator would be aware of the children with a history of problematic behaviors at school and at risk of suspension and become an integral part of the academic team for each of these children.
A Master’s Degree is required with experience working with special needs children.
